TakeOver Music Collective, spearheaded by Mojo Barnes and Ready Ron Beats, are on a mission to leave their stamp on tha music world. With an unrelenting presence on tha live performance circuit, Barnes shows no signs of slowing down with tha release of his highly anticipated EP "Surface Tension". Perhaps tha only drawback of this album is that it's an EP. But, you know, we've all come to know and love EPs. It actually makes music that much more substantial.

The 5-cut album is entirely produced by Ready Ron, who is producing music for a slew of artists under tha TakeOver Music Collective. The first song on tha album is "Not Your Role Model", a song Barnes & Ron did a music video to that you can watch here. Mojo Barnes lyrical zeal makes him one to be reckoned with. One thing that makes this a quality project is that it's a complete solo project with one producer and little to no features. Still here are tha days of artists dropping albums with just one producer (at a time). We gotta appreciate these eras where artist collaborations help shape tha identity of local music scenes.
